General Summary

Supports assigned business partners by providing full service Human Resources  assistance, including full scale talent acquisition support, employee relations resolution, succession planning, performance management, and training. Also serves as the HR liaison to answer questions regarding HR policies and procedures.


Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the selection, interview, and onboarding process for both internal and external candidates.
Includes job posting, candidate sourcing, management of the interview and the offer process.
Responsible for partnering with managers on new hire onboarding process
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
Serve as a resource and strategic business partner to assigned business units

Employee Relations
Serve as an employee and manager advocate - monitoring the pulse of the business units supported.
Identify employee relations trends that are most impacting business and partner with management to develop a plan to address them.
Primary point person for business partners in resolving employee relations issues, including progressive discipline.
Partner in all terminations, as required by HR Director, ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed to eliminate adverse employment claims.


Partner with the Training and Organizational Development Department to develop and ensure implementation of effective training programs
Assist in developing and ensuring effective training and programs that improve identified gaps of knowledge, skills or performance.
Facilitate training programs as required.


Organizational Development
Consult and influence managers to maximize organizational effectiveness, inclusive of proactively identifying opportunities for change.


Human Resource Processes
Assist HR Director with implementation of Talent Management processes in assigned business units, to include succession planning and performance management.
Partner with appropriate HR specialist groups to help resolve employee issues such as compensation or equity adjustments, benefits questions, headcount planning, unemployment hearings, and other employment related matters.
Track and report key metrics for identified HR processes.
Conduct exit interviews, identify turnover trends, and implement corrective action within business units as appropriate.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


§ Strong interview and candidate selection skills

§ Advanced ability to communicate with employees at all levels (both verbal and written communication skills)

§ Knowledge of state and federal employment law

§ Ability to mediate between employees and/or managers during conflict resolution

§ Ability to achieve measurable results through collaboration and influence

§ Exceptional planning, coordination, project management and implementation skills

§ Strong presentation skills


Education / Work Exp

Bachelor’s degree required.  Degree in Human Resources preferred. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.  4-6 years experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, or HR generalist work required.
