    Job Details

    General Summary:

    Primarily responsible for the design, development, implementation and administration of Dollar General Employee Benefits program. This position will serve as a proactive subject matter expert, an innovative thinker, strong relationship builder, and business partner - facilitating business solutions through their functional and technical expertise.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Design and develop strategies, cost-containment programs, point solutions and/or program modifications that optimize value, delivery efficiency, strengthen market competitiveness, reduce costs and incorporate best practices into Dollar General’s programs. Present recommendations to Benefits Leadership team.
    • Research market to identify evidence-based best practices, leading services and vendors; helps prepare the RFPs, select the vendors of choice, negotiate rates, facilitate contracting and integrate their offerings into the Program.
    • Serve as primary vendor management interface to all health & welfare consultants, brokers, and vendors; manage vendors to Service Level Agreement related to costs, deliverables and participant engagement; manage commissions.
    • Develop, integrate and manage all wellness and clinical programs and services.
    • Monitor and assess legislative, tax and social changes that may impact current programs and report necessary or suggested changes to Benefits leadership team.
    • Support Benefits Leadership team as needed.

                   

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

    • Benefits leadership experience in a large, global company, retail environment is a plus, including deep expertise in U.S. benefits and population health management strategy
    • Results-driven professional with ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with key stakeholders/leadership and produce superior quality work products
    • Self-starter with ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with key stakeholders and leadership
    • Proven ability to develop and lead a team
    • Clear understanding of the principles of administration of group insurance programs for a large company, along with extensive knowledge of employers’ requirements under ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125 of the IRS code and state laws
    • Strong customer service and contract negotiation skills
    • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation) and strong executive presence

    Qualifications

    Work Experience &/or Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field (business or health-related field), Master’s Degree in related field preferred (combination of experience and education will be considered)
    • 12+ years of relevant benefits experience and people leadership, including 10+ years of experience with designing, implementing, and managing Benefit Programs.
    • Background in clinical or health management preferred
    • Benefits Certification (CBP or CEBS) preferred
