    Job Details

    General Summary:

    Specialized role involving frontline management and oversight of all real estate functions related to strategic planning and growth of DGX, a recently introduced convenience concept targeting urban market environments; Execution of store opening objectives in tandem with overall strategic goals of the Company; Cross-functional collaboration to include Finance, Legal, Construction, Transportation and Operations.

     

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of detailed LOI’s, SOW’s, comprehensive site approval packages and other financial based reports and analysis including site submittal packages for presentation at bi-weekly Real Estate Committee (REC) meeting.
    • Frequent travel throughout the U.S. to gain a strong understanding of assigned markets, to include retail landscapes, demographic trends and socio-economic behavior, pedestrian and vehicular traffic, as well as property availability and real estate comparables.
    • Communicate objectives and strategies to preferred network of broker partners in order to establish and successfully execute strategic objectives of the DGX concept, and related urban goals.
    • Partners with Design & Construction teams to validate costs and to confirm that specific development requirements are met in order to meet merchandising and operational requirements; Coordinates with construction and other departments up through store opening; Collaboration with Finance team to develop an integrated penetration plan in order to target optimal DGX markets and specific site opportunities.
    • Negotiate business points for DGX and related urban projects; Partner with DG and outside legal teams to finalize lease agreements.
    • Frequent communication and periodic presentations to align teams with strategic priorities for DGX and related urban pursuits throughout the country. Manage DGX deals within all phases of the development pipeline.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Solid understanding of real estate practices and principles.
    • Working knowledge of the various disciplines involved in the store development process, from market analysis to pipeline management and store opening for both existing and ground up Conventional space.
    • Impeccable interpersonal and networking capacity.
    • Self-starter with an ability to work independently.
    • Strong verbal and written communication.
    • Organized and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Experience &/or Education:

     

    College degree required; BA/ BS in closely related field, preferably in real estate, marketing, management, or related business discipline. MBA or law degree a plus. Minimum of seven years of experience working within a fast-paced corporate real estate environment in a deal making/negotiating capacity.
