    General Summary:

    This role is responsible for supporting the strategic and tactical planning of Retail Initiative Projects by leveraging internal and external resources to align on financial impact, timing, responsibilities, risks, and opportunities that add significant value to the company.


    Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Provide strategic direction specific to department management and long term goals; set priorities, focus energy and resources, ensure that stakeholders are working toward common goals, and establish agreement around intended outcomes/results.
    • Demonstrate team leadership skills to build alignment, commitment, and accountability for delivering results; serve as a credible source for initiative information to ensure projects are planned effectively and cross-functional teams are aligned on ownership.
    • Manage and support Initiative team in order to execute 50+ projects per year; develop leadership and tactical competencies for two to three direct reports as well as multiple contingent workers to maximize team capacity.
    • Lead planned and ad hoc initiative and test planning: Develop and implement initiative projects, challenge vendor network to ensure execution standards are met, and lead capital and financial planning for Initiative projects in order to drive sales and save expense.
    • Manage 3rd party labor contracts, diversification, competitive pricing; and ensure in store execution meets or exceeds expectations; visit stores to ensure vendor compliance/standards are being met


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels – Senior Executives, Organization, External
    • Strong project management skills with proven ability to work cross­functionally
    • Proven ability to develop and deploy a strategic vision
    • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast­paced, multiple project environment
    • Strong understanding of statistical concepts and application
    • Solid understanding of financial metrics to determine the profitability of proposed projects
    • Proven ability to organize, prioritize, be detail­oriented and be a self­starter
    • Highly skilled in all MS Office applications
    • Strong data management skills required. JDA, 1010, APT, and Smartsheet software skills preferred
    • Professional interpersonal and high impact influence skills
    • Ability to create, adapt & evolve processes for multiple projects, communications and reporting


    Work Experience and/or Education: 

    Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education/technical training, with 6+ years of related work experience. At least 5 years’ experience in leading team of professionals. Retail Operations experience preferred.
