    Job Details

    • Manage the planning, execution and reconciliation of the physical inventory counts and the payment of DSD vendors. Responsible for reporting Company shrink results and providing analysis to senior management.
    • Implement best practices and develop team benchmark strengths within the department to ensure efficient operation of the department with a concentration on accuracy and customer service.
    • Assist with the upgrade, design and/or implementation of IT and business processes affecting the Company’s financial inventory.
    • Implement and lead strategic projects for cost saving opportunities and find ways to streamline current processes for maximum efficiencies. Responsible for communication and managing the rollout phase of new inventory related initiatives.
    • Supervise the review of store initiated transactions pertaining to the movement and tracking of inventory. Responsible for communicating exceptions to the appropriate level of management.
    • Coaching and mentoring assigned teams

    Qualifications

    • Be a team player. Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with others.
    • Be a teacher, mentor and coach. Ability to lead and develop subordinates as well as other departments regarding inventory accounting issues.
    • Have a strong understanding of physical inventory, shrink and payables.
    • Have an intermediate knowledge of the word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
    • Ability to analyze large data sets and effectively communicate complex findings to various levels of the organization, including senior management.
    • Be able to communicate well, both orally and written with strong presentation skills.

     

     Work Experience/Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred, plus 6+ years applicable work experience required, with a strong emphasis in retail inventory accounting and established supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
