    Job Details

    General Summary:


    Facilitates reclamation of company assets via Dollar General’s recovery program. This includes collections from court-ordered and promissory notes as well as civil recovery or any other means that advance company financials. Responsible for accurate reporting of all restitution income. Collaborates in a cross functional capacity with legal, risk management, financial reporting, internal audit, and cash audit.



    Duties & Responsibilities:


    • Restitution Program (75%)
      • Recoups company assets via court-ordered, promissory notes, civil recovery as well as an online payment portal
      • Reconciles vendor disbursements and online payments to the proper account on a daily basis
      • Analyzes and measures restitution programs to identify trends and patterns in order to make business cases and decisions that will increase collected restitution and protect the company from litigation
      • Audits employee case reports for accuracy and professionalism, follow up with appropriate loss prevention field management on important or ongoing issues
      • Documents victim impact statements supporting the prosecution process and provide relevant information to attorneys and legal teams
    • Reporting (20%)
      • Maintains accurate and detailed restitution accounts and track account activity based on verbal and written correspondence
      • Communicates progress or issues with leadership on a regular basis or as business conditions mandate
      • Partners with cash audit, financial reporting, and payment services to ensure proper reconciliation of restitution recovery
    • Other (5%)
      • Completes new hire training for loss prevention field management regarding restitution collection policies and procedures
      • Initiates and tracks bi-annual case return efforts to support proper records retention practices
      • Helps maintain loss prevention software, databases, and shared email accounts as secondary support

    • Computer proficiency with applications such as Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point as well as data warehouses and other retail systems and applications 


    Work Experience &/or Education:


    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required. Minimum 2 years of related work experience required. Retail experience highly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
