    Title: Lead Software Engineer

    Reports to: Sr. Director Digital Application Development

     

    General Summary:

    Dollar General is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer. The Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer will function as a software engineer, solutions architect, and web developer. The Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack Developer will address challenges of delivering next-generation applications and will function as a senior technical resource and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for web application development and design heavily focused on eCommerce/CMS platforms. This person will leverage SQL Server, Oracle, C#, .NET, JavaScript, and machine learning technologies.They will also provide technical guidance to other team members, lead projects, and manage both internal and external resources to ensure deliverables meet time and quality constraints.Developers on our team must be self-starters, able to design solutions that evolve and improve the overall system. The successful developer will embrace learnings, suggest new solutions, and improve site performance.

     

    Knowledge and Skills: 

    • Design overall architecture of the web application.
    • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
    • Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and launch new features.
    • Maintain code integrity and organization.
    • Experience working with graphic designers and converting designs to visual elements.
    • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
    • Highly experienced with back-end programming languages (e.g. PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, .NET, JavaScript etc.)
    • Proficient experience using (e.g. advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS etc.).
    • Development experience for both mobile and desktop.
    • Understanding of server-side languages including (e.g. Jade, EJS, Jinja, etc.).
    • Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications.
    • Knowledge of code versioning tools {{such as Git, Mercurial or SVN}}.
    • Working knowledge of statistics and machine learning concepts
    • Experience operating in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
    • Experience consuming REST based services
    • Experience with CMS integration is required
    • Experience with CDP integration strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of personalization strategies and techniques

    Qualifications

    Work Experience and/or Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or related field. 
    • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Software Development.
