Job Details

General Summary:

The team explores, implements and analyzes in-store process improvements to reduce, eliminate or change the work in order to make operating a store more efficient or simpler. This role evaluates new technologies and processes, performs advanced analysis on complex data sets, assists with project implementations, and works cross-functionally with other departments.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analysis & Software Testing
    • Advanced statistical and financial analysis of complex data sets in support of initiatives
    • Collect and manage data needed to measure results
    • Build, execute and manage User Acceptance Test scripts that ensure that technology-based initiatives are performing as intended
  • Labor Standards & Process Improvement
    • Develop a deep understanding of Dollar General labor standards
    • Apply understanding of labor standards toward developing new processes that are simpler or more efficient for store teams to execute
    • Map processes and gather data through observation
    • Develop sustainable Support Center processes to ensure long-term success of initiatives
  • Project Management & Implementations
    • Identify training needs and create materials and other project resources
    • Assist with implementations, including on-site field training and coaching
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments in order to ensure the successful development and implementation of new initiatives
    • Gather feedback from pilot participants and stakeholders

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project or Smartsheet
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and databases such as SQL and Access (1010data significant plus)
  • Experience using time & labor studies in a retail environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and process mapping skills
  • Experience being part of retail technology implementations and other operational initiatives
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and communication
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

Work Experience &/or Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analysis, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent professional experience required. Minimum of five years relevant experience required.
