Job Details

 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Owner for the annual Business Review workflows, including toolkits and performance metrics (Note: does not apply to space planning processes)
  • Maintains process ownership for the annual Business Review process, including delivery of consumer/Nielsen insights, linkage with plan/budget, calendaring, preparation for all steps and post-finalization follow-up
  • Maintains and improves on core Business Review toolkits (including finding permanent IT solutions), including SKU Opt database and Assortment Models
  • Performs annual space reallocation review, including maintenance of the POG productivity Heat Maps
  • Maintain and improve upon process and toolkits for Assortment Review “check in’s”
  • Accountable for cross-functional coordination of the annual Store Reset process, integrating resources from Merchandising, Space Planning and Store Operations
  • Accountable for the designs, improvement and maintenance of all other core Merchandising processes, including the development of workflow, toolkits and performance metrics (Note: does not apply to space planning processes)
  • Provide real-time analytical support for the entire Merchant community (25%)
  • Manage the use and maintenance of the Basket Analysis toolkits and other sales and profitability reporting systems
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis of specific business issues as directed by the merchant leadership
  • Develop and maintain tracking/performance management toolkits for important Merchandising initiatives

  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively across business groups and functions to gain alignment towards goals
  • Proactively looks for opportunity without substantial guidance from senior Merchandising leadership; strong focus on action vs. a “consulting” mindset around providing guidance
  • Exception analytical thinking and skills – uses quantitative and qualitative data to support decisions, develop strategies and set targets
  • Strong model building capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Some direct experience in retail processes and toolkits
  • Strong communication skills and ability to challenge respectfully – critical skill to drive change and adoption of new processes and approaches


Work Experience &/or Education:


  • Requires 7+ years of merchandise analytics experience with a preference for roles with strategic planning and/or business intelligence emphasis. Bachelor's degree required and graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience working in a retailer or with other retailers is a must. Advanced degree is a plus.
